A Call for Freelance Creative and Communications Professionals
The Centre for Disaster Protection ('Centre') works to change how the world prepares and pays for disasters. Identifying, planning for, and financing disasters before they strike saves lives, reduces suffering, and protects livelihoods and economies, especially for the poorest and most vulnerable communities. The Centre brings countries together with international development, humanitarian, and private sector organisations to find solutions and advocate for change. We find ways to stop disasters devastating lives by supporting countries and the international system to manage risks better.
One of our goals is to foster impactful communications and global policy engagement. We engage and influence through evidence-led policy and strategic partnership platforms, targeting the bottlenecks to transformative change in the international crisis financing architecture. We invest in inclusive dialogue, policy thought leadership, and strategic communications that bridge local to global and the humanitarian-development climate nexus.
We are a multi-disciplinary and nimble organisation. We dare to be different and use creativity to reimagine the story of the costs of disasters. In the spirit of our values and strengths, we are looking to work with communication and creative freelance professionals to help us deliver impactful content to help achieve our organisational goals.
We seek freelancers to join our pool of creative professionals to support the Centre’s content creation and communication activities. We are looking to contract several freelancers with experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: copywriting, copyediting, and proofreading; graphic design; event graphic recording or live illustration; illustration; animation; and other creative services.
This is a short-term call-down contract, which will be completed by the end of June 2023 or later, as mutually agreed. An indicative scope of work has been outlined below, and specific tasks will be agreed upon between the freelancer and project lead.
Freelancers can enter the contract as sole traders or via their limited company.
